Woodland Group are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Container Freight Station (CFS) Clerk to join our logistics team. The CFS Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the movement of cargo, processing inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring the accuracy of documentation related to container freight operations. This role requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of freight and logistics processes.
About the job:
Cargo Coordination:
Assist with receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming and outgoing shipments.
Coordinate container unloading and loading activities with warehouse staff.
Ensure the accurate distribution and documentation of cargo within the station.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and process shipment documentation such as manifests, bills of lading, and inventory reports, Customs Clearances, and other required documentation.
Verify accuracy of paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments, including tracking numbers and container seals.
Update cargo tracking systems with relevant shipment data.
Inventory Control:
Maintain accurate records of CFS space and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
Assist in the periodic physical inventory of stored cargo.
Keep track of all shipments in the CFS and how many days in our CFS.
Ensure proper General Order procedures are followed when appropriate.
Customer Interaction:
Coordinate with freight forwarders, truckers, and customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and documentation.
Address any customer inquiries or discrepancies regarding shipments.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols during handling of cargo.
Review all documentation to ensure matches with all documentation.
Responsible for record retention of all documentations from start to finish in the CFS process.
Inform US Compliance Manager of any discrepancies found in record retention and reports.
About you:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certification or training in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in warehousing, freight forwarding, or logistics preferred, but entry-level candidates with a strong interest in the field are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of container freight station operations, shipping documents, and international shipping procedures is a plus.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with cargo tracking software is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
