Woodland Group Ireland are recruiting a Sales Business Development to join our team at our site in Dublin. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, working closely with the Sales and Operational teams.
This role focuses on driving new business by fostering sales development, building relationships, engaging with clients, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. With Woodland Group, one of Irelands leading independent freight forwarders, offering tailored solutions, you'll have the resources and support needed to achieve sales success.
Focusing on sales of Woodland Groups Air Freight services you’ll be identifying new markets and potential customers, as well as engaging in networking and cold calling. Using a consultative sales approach, you will attend meetings to understand your customers' needs, offer recommendations, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and close new business deals.
While this is a field-based role, you'll have the flexibility to manage your own schedule, work from home and/or from our offices.

About the role:
Pro-actively generate new sales and achieve maximum profitability against mutually agreed sales targets by profiling potential new prospects in the area of global Air business development.
Development of our Air services, with a focus on Asia/US trades
Ensure the Commercial Manager is fully informed on rate negotiations, service requirements and potential meetings when a high profile customer/prospect is evident;
Provide new and existing customer reports ensuring that all sales activity is accurately reported and feedback on any barriers and market intelligence is delivered;
Communicate new customer requirements through Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that all appropriate staff have access to the relevant information;
Establish and maintain effective communication links with other business units to identify all potential sales opportunities;
Keep accurate records by logging all sales visits on Salesforce.
Maintain awareness of company products and of relevant sales techniques to ensure that the sales role is carried out in line with Company values;
Research and analyse internal and external market information to enable the business units to identify opportunities and develop products and services which will support business objectives;
Ensure that presentations to customers are consistent and aligned with the Woodland brand;
Handle all customer communication in a timely manner;
Attend sales meetings and conferences as and when required; and
Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.

You have proven experience in sales within the air freight industry
You are experienced in proactive and consultative sales
You have successfully generated leads
You'll have the ability to travel nationally as needed
