Woodland Group are recruiting an Credit Controller to join our team at our Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager and working closely with the Accounts Team as well as the Global Management Team the Credit Controller will provide vital support to the Global Finance team working in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. The position will require liaising with customers, external offices for the Woodland Global division.

About the role:
Actively collect and allocate cash;
Sending statements to customers on a monthly and ad hoc basis;
Dealing with payments, contras, movements, contracts etc for key Agents;
Accurately carry out on hold accounts and credit exceed procedures;
Manage unallocated cash, identify payments and resolve posting errors where necessary;
Actively seek to resolve credit control issues and problem accounts;
Monitor and manage credit control inbox;
Process all aspects of month end;
Liaise with the bank when issues arise;
Post recharge invoices to sales ledger & send out;
Produce periodic and ad hoc reports, identify and resolve queries that arise;
Daily banking;
Filing on a daily basis;
Liaise with Bought Ledger with regard to Contras;
Provide cover within the Finance team where needed;
Building and maintaining external and internal relationships;
Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Work with the Finance team to continually improve processes and business performance;
Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward; and
Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly.
Personal Specification
You have previous experience in a Credit Control role, ideally within a high transaction environment.
You have advanced MS Excel skills
You are well organised, prioritising and working within key deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
You have the ability to work thoroughly, methodically with an excellent attention to detail;
You can work collaboratively with other members of the team as well as key stakeholders across the group;
You have the natural ability and enjoy building and maintaining strong working relationships;
You excel with a team environment as well as being able to work autonomously when required;
You are flexible, adaptable, and open minded and respond well to the ever-changing priorities and challenges while remaining calm and focussed on getting the job done;
You are proactive looking at ways to improve processes and have the initiative to put them forward and where possible into practice;
You actively seek ways to enhance your knowledge and improve your performance; and
You are self-motivated, have huge drive and ambition – you thrive off achieving great success and helping to build a great place to work!
