Woodland Group are recruiting an HGV Fleet Controller for our team in Yaxley, Peterborough. Reporting to and working with the Compliance Manager the HGV Fleet and Compliance Manager will support the Class 1 Woodland Logistics Drivers. Fleet & Fleet team and UK depots. The Fleet Controller will oversee the day-to-day management of our vehicle fleet, including maintenance, repairs, fuel management, and compliance. You'll work closely with drivers, maintenance teams, and external partners to ensure seamless operations.

About the role:
Organising inspections & MOTs (HGV)
Resolving vehicle defects, breakdowns, ancillary repairs across the fleet the
Operating our asset/repair management software - uploading jobs, management of the asset maintenance system (Aquarius), handling stock control, actioning defects in a timely, efficient and effective manner.
Purchasing – ordering general spares, fuel, and ancillary parts when needed.
Driver welfare – Communicating with drivers relating to vehicle defects and breakdowns.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Collaborate with drivers, depots and maintenance teams to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
Manage fleet-related incidents and reduce operational costs.
Monitor job progression and report any service issues immediately.
Manage all VOR on a daily basis reporting to the Head of fleet together with daily conference calls with all depots with up to date progress ( 10am/14.00pm)
Personal Specification
Experience in a similar role within the logistics or fleet management industry.
Resilient, process-driven, self-starter who can work under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You have the ability to work thoroughly, methodically with an excellent attention to detail;
You can work collaboratively with other members of the team as well as key stakeholders across the group;
You have the natural ability and enjoy building and maintaining strong working relationships;
You excel with a team environment as well as being able to work autonomously when required;
You are flexible, adaptable, and open minded and respond well to the ever-changing priorities and challenges while remaining calm and focussed on getting the job done;
You are proactive looking at ways to improve processes and have the initiative to put them forward and where possible into practice;
You actively seek ways to enhance your knowledge and improve your performance; and
You are self-motivated, have huge drive and ambition – you thrive off achieving great success and helping to build a great place to work!
