Surges and flooding are expected as a result with maximum sustained winds of 70mph or 110km/h currently, which can grow to over 111mph as the storm intensifies.

A state of emergency, which included evacuation orders for some, was issued for half of Florida counties ahead of the hurricane making landfall.

Supply chain movements across the Southeastern USA will be impacted as a result, including airports throughout the affected region, and ocean ports of Port Everglades, Savannah and Charleston.
