The Memorandum of Understanding for the group is to address risks and facilitate better cooperation and sharing of data. This, especially after the COVID pandemic, will help bolster supply chain resilience and timely response to possible disruptions.
The Supply Chain Resilience Pact begins with a pilot program concentrating on supply chains within telecommunications, which has been deemed a critical sector. A central aspect of this is the development of an early-alert system to identify potential disruptions and mitigate related risks in hopes of strengthening each of the countries’ capabilities to address and tackle key supply chain weaknesses.
Through risk identification and monitoring of any issues, the initiative’s goal is to improve the understanding of vulnerabilities, identify critical areas, and risks across all three countries. It also seeks to establish methods for sharing this information and for coordinating responses to potential disruptions as a model for the industry and further countries’ cooperation.
